Windracers builds autonomous cargo drones—the kind that can deliver supplies to remote islands or disaster zones. Proper science-fiction stuff, except it's real and flying now.
Their internal design team had created stunning visuals—dramatic drone footage, bold graphics, the kind of artwork that makes you stop scrolling. What they didn't have was someone to turn those designs into a working website.
WordPress with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) gave us the flexibility to match their designs exactly while keeping the site manageable. We built a library of reusable components: hero sections with video backgrounds, feature grids, specification tables, case study layouts.
The component approach means the team can build new pages themselves. Need a page for a new partnership? Drag in the components, add content, publish. The design stays consistent because the building blocks are pre-defined—you can rearrange them, but you can't break them.
Video is central to the experience. When your product is autonomous drones flying over the Shetland Islands, you want people to see it in motion. We optimised video delivery for fast loading without sacrificing quality.
The site successfully communicates what Windracers does and why it matters—which is harder than it sounds when you're explaining autonomous aviation to people who've never thought about it.
Their team can maintain and extend the site independently. New drone capabilities, new routes, new partnerships—all manageable without developer involvement.
