Grenfell United

The Challenge

Grenfell United represents the survivors and bereaved families of the Grenfell Tower fire. They came together to demand justice for the 72 who died and to fight for everyone's right to be safe in their homes.

With the public inquiry ongoing, they needed a new website. Somewhere to share their story with the general public, publish press statements, and keep their campaign visible. The site needed to be powerful without being overwhelming, accessible to everyone, and maintainable by a small team with limited technical resources.

Our Approach

Statamic and Tailwind CSS gave us a solid, fast foundation. The content management is straightforward—press releases, campaign updates, timeline entries—all manageable without developer involvement.

The interactive timeline was the centrepiece. We wanted to help people, especially school-age children, understand the journey the families have been on since 2017. Not just dates and facts, but the emotional weight of five years of fighting for justice. The timeline scrolls horizontally on desktop, stacks naturally on mobile, and loads quickly regardless of connection speed.

Design-wise, we kept it clear and dignified. Green—their campaign colour—features prominently without dominating. Video and photography tell the human story. The typography is accessible at every screen size.

The Results

The site serves as the families' digital voice. It's been used extensively by journalists, educators, and the public throughout the ongoing inquiry. Press statements reach audiences directly, without relying on intermediaries.

Some projects matter more than others. This was one of those.
