Golden Balls

The Challenge

Goldenballs makes healthy, protein-packed energy balls. Lovely product, needed a way to sell them online without paying Shopify fees or wrestling with WooCommerce.

Sarah Evans had created a playful, colourful brand that perfectly matched the product. We needed to build an online shop that was as straightforward as the snacks themselves—no unnecessary complexity, just: see product, add to cart, checkout, done.

Our Approach

For a single-product business, the big e-commerce platforms are overkill. We used Perch CMS with its shop add-on—simple, affordable, and gives the client full control over products and orders.

The checkout is Stripe-powered, which means proper card handling without us touching sensitive data. The whole purchase flow was designed to be as frictionless as possible. One product page, clear pricing, obvious call-to-action.

Product photography (not our work—the client had that covered) did most of the selling. We just made sure it loaded fast and looked good on phones, where most of the traffic came from.

The Results

The shop launched, orders started coming in, and the client could manage everything themselves. Stock levels, pricing changes, new product variations—all handled through a simple admin interface.

Not every project needs to be complex. Sometimes the best technical decision is choosing the simplest tool that does the job.
