The Challenge

Don't judge the book by its cover. The eightfourtwo website looks simple enough from the outside—but behind it sits the largest project we've ever built.

Eightfourtwo is a recruitment consultancy. Their business runs on relationships: tracking candidates, managing client accounts, coordinating placements, following up on leads. Generic CRM software didn't fit how they worked. They needed something custom.

Our Approach

We've been building and refining this system since 2014. That's a decade of iteration, feature additions, and learning what actually matters in a recruitment workflow.

The core is Laravel—solid, maintainable, proven at scale. Vue.js handles the interactive parts: real-time search, drag-and-drop candidate management, instant updates when status changes. The UI is designed around how recruiters actually work, not how software developers think they should work.

Over the years we've added: automated email sequences, calendar integration, reporting dashboards, client portals, candidate self-service features. Each addition based on actual needs, not speculative feature requests.

The Results

The system handles their entire operation. It's not flashy—CRMs shouldn't be flashy—but it's reliable, fast, and shaped precisely to how they do business.

A decade of continuous development means we know every corner of the codebase. When they need something new, we can add it without breaking what already works. That's the real value of long-term partnerships.
